A consortium of Insurance Companies led by the Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc recently made good the terms of contract entered into with the Nigerian Prisons Service by refurbishing and replacing touched and destroyed vehicles belonging to the Nigerian Prisons Service.
Some form of respite came the way of the Nigerian Prisons Service recently as a consortium of Insurance Companies, being the underwriters of the Nigerian Prisons Service, refurbished some vehicles touched in the wake of the Boko Haram upheaval in Maiduguri, Borno State. They also purchased a brand new Toyota Hilux pickup to replace the one burnt by the terrorists.
The Controller-General of Prisons, Mr. Olusola Ogundipe, OFR, mni received the brand new van on behalf of the Service in a brief ceremony at the National Headquarters of the Nigerian Prisons Service, Bill Clinton Drive, Abuja.
Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, being the lead underwriter in a brief speech before the hand-over said the gesture was in keeping with its principles of quick response to the needs of its clients.
The Controller-General of Prisons thanked them for their gesture.
It would be recalled that some months back an attack was made by the Boko Haram group on the Maiduguri Prisons which resulted in loss of lives and properties of the Nigerian Prisons Service.
